This is a work in progress that was initiated by my uncle, Marvin Stirman Meek, who resides in Hemet, California. He is 94 years old and is passing all of his research on the Meek family to me. I am now in the process of reading information that he has gathered over the past 25+ years. I hope to create a family tree and track ancestry back as far as possible. To date, I am aware that the Meek's originated from Missouri, moved to Texas and then on to New Mexico. The bulk of his stories focus on experiences in the area around Rosewell, Lincoln County and Tularosa New Mexico. This project has been initiated by me on March 4, 2001 and I hope to improve this webpage and share information with others who are interested in their roots. I welcome all comments and suggestions! I will elaborate more on the Meek history as I become better acquainted with it. Until then, let's dig deep and find those roots!
