Paternal ancestry traced back to Netherlands, late 17th century, my father's mother's family (DeVries). Meekers came from Windham County, Vermont in mid 19th century to Eaton County, Michigan. Grandfather Don A. Meeker and grandmother Mabel Edith DeVries moved to Grand Rapids, MI, then to Chicago, retired in Phoenix. Maternal side less clear, as both grandparents were adopted, and were not notified of this fact until their wedding day. Grandfather Feley was raised as a Winkmann (sp), grandmother was raised under her stepfather's name, McCluskey. Aunt has grandmother's birth certificate with birth name on it.
Grandfather's full name: Edmund Henry Carl Feley. Great Grandma Mason (who married twice) first to a gentleman from New York named Feley, then to Great Grandpa Mason, who owned a department store in Chicago. Edmund was only child of Henrietta Wickmann (sp) Feley Mason. Josephine (Edmund's wife) was the only child of her mother and first husband, whose name at this time is unknown. After birth mother's death, McCluskey married Mary Collins.
