The MEEK Family Welcome to my web site and the MEEK Family Tree. I have conducted extensive research and made numerous phone calls to collect information relating to our Family Tree. New information is continually coming in and if you have any information that can be documented regarding “our” family, please contact me at my e-mail address.
Our roots can now be traced back to Lincolnshire England and we appear to be the descendants of the following: i.e. Adam Meek, Jacob, John, Basil, Jesse, John Wesley, Charles Wesley, Edwin, and Lyle Meek.
Additional family names within “our” family tree are: Smith, Kirkham, Carter, Harper, Griffin, Ryan, Williams, Peters, Sherry Kauffman/Kuafman, Fleener/Fleenor, Henderson, Wiley, Cobb, Kershner, Lewis, Pruett, Armstrong, McCarty, Hess, Hicks, Wells,Duncan, Cox, Fickle,Quick,Mann,Giles,Scyphers,Linder,Combs, Gobble,Minnick,Flinner, and more.
We have had many of our family members that served for the United State, they serving in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, W.W.I, W.W.II, Korea, and Vietnam.
I have found that the Meek Family moved to many places. When I started out looking for them, they where in Coffey County Kansas. They where John Wesley, Charles Wesley, and Edwin Meek. Then found that John married in Clay County Illinois, he was born in Henry County Kentucky, where most of the family is from.
The Harper side of the family is from Scotland and ended up in California, where I was born. The info on the Harper is every limited but I am still look for more.
The Griffin part of our family is originally from Ireland. They immigrated to Calif. and by the 2nd generation were active members in the Native Sons/daughters of the Golden West. Ed/Edmund Griffin worked on the original building of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The other names I have there is very little information as to what they did and where they are from I hope to have more info to add to my site on them and the other people that I find. I hope that you have a nice time on my site and have found someone that is part of both our family and that I maybe able to add them to my family tree site
Have fun and a good day, please let me hear from you if you can add information to my site.
