The Becker family name has been the main object of my research and is my primary focus in this publication. This account of the family's migration from the Rhineland in Germany to St. Louis, Missouri, was put together using data collected over the past fifteen years. Included in the research are the collateral families, whose surnames may not be recognized as Becker relatives, due to marriage of the female ancestors. These include parents, siblings, grandparents, great grandparents, and so on. Surnames related to the Becker family by marriage in Germany are HECKER, KÖRFGENS, HEIDKAMP, CREMER, MATTHEISEN, HILGERS, SCHUMACHER, STEINS, PÜTZ, and FISCHER. Collateral family names after their arrival in the United States include KESLER, DIERKER, ZIPP, SCHUMACHER, ZIEGLER, ABELN, and HORSTMAN, and others too numerous to list.
Some of these are Abeln, Albers, Bange, Barbagello, Bast, Bauer, Becker, Berresheim, Bertke, Biegler, Blase, Bour, Bremer, Buechler, Burkhardt, Classen, Cremer, Dames, Dierker, Dirker, Elfrink, Ems, Ent, Eynck, Feickert, Fischenick, Fischer, Frederitzi, Fresenburg, Geg, Gillman, Griese, Grote, Hagen, Hampel, Hanson, Hecker, Heidkamp, Heimbach, Heinrich, Hesch, Hilgers, Hollenberger, Holtheide, Hook, Hopmeier, Horstman, Jack, Jaeck, Jerik, Jost-Westendorf, Kesselheim, Kessler, Keute, Knecht, Knobbers, Kochner, Koerfgens, Konert, Krechter, Kreyling, Lampe, Lattray, Link, Linnes, Luecken, Majer, Marx, Matheison, Meier, Mewers, Miller, Nahlik, Nannemann, Niechs, Niermann, Novotny, Ott, Poepper, Priester, Puetz, Rakers, Rechtein, Ruebing, Ruess, Schirkens, Schaller, Schoemaker, Schomecher, Schraering, Schroll, Schulte, Schumacher, Simon, Sippel, Spitz, Steckel, Steins, Stonecipher, Tangeny, Terschluse, Thamann, Thormann, Toebben, Trautmann, Ulrich, Vogel, Vogele, Von Nida, Vonderhaar, Wahle, Wahling, Wandstroet, Westendorf, Wingerter, Wobbe, Zeller Ziegelmeyer, Ziegler, Zinzer, Zipp, Zoeller
