My name is Angel Mahaffy - Merrifield. I was born in Dumas, TX in December of 1975 to my unwed mother, Maureen Mahaffy, born February 1957. She abandoned me and my two younger half brothers, Robert and Clarence Mason, in June of 1986 and took the information of my paternity with her. Her father, Lewis Chester Mahaffy, was married to my mother's step mother, Linda White, since my mother was 12. He died in October of 1991 and my mother's step mother died in April of 1998. Neither of them left behind the information of my biological maternal grandmother. I was told by Linda white, after Lewis' death that his father was Irish but no name for him. She also believed his mother was named Flora Pauline Lyon and full blood Souix Indian and that he, Lewis, was born in South Dakota. That is all the history I have and am looking for information to fill in my genealogical gaps. Maybe someone will read this and help me. Until then... I'm still lookin'!
