I am trying to research my roots as most who come on here do. I am a Merkley and I have pride to be a Merkley. To me that is my name and marriage will not change were my roots began, my name may change and I will be proud to have my husbands name but I will always be a Merkley. As I will always be a Merkley I will also always be a Halladay, a Deir and a MacDonald. I hold my family close and I fear as nobody in my immediate family has tried to keep our story going there won't be anybody to tell the story left in the years to come and to me my children and when they have children their children deserve to know where there roots are. So my research has begun so I can sit back years down the road and tell my grandchildren and my great grandchildren Our Story as a Merkley, Halladay, Deir and MacDonald Family. I would greatly appreciate any help that anybody has to offer to make my journey easier.
