My family is based in Indiana, but we have roots throughout Europe. The MEYERs and SINDERs are German, coming to Louisville in the 1850's and marrying other German families in Harrison County, Indiana. These names include SEITZ, BICKEL, RICHERT. My greatgrandparents were FEDOSKYs from Chicago. John was Slovak and Christina SWANSON, his wife, was Swedish. They came to this country in the late 1800's.
My mother's family is STURGEON. Their ancestors were Swiss, German, Irish, and English. Most came to Pennsylvania or Maryland, then moved on to Ohio, mostly Belmont, Muskingum, and Perry counties. These names include: AMERINE, HECK, WILEY, JONES, HORN, RUTTER, WILSON, CROY, BUSH.
We have been represented in the Spanish-American War, the Civil War, and Revolutionary War. John Horn died of injuries sustainied during the Battle of Atlanta and is buried in the National Cemetery at Marietta, Georgia.
I have been researching all branches of the family for the past few years and welcome contacts with others researching these lines.
