I began my research about five years ago, yr. 2000, on my,
MEYER Family Research- Louisville,St, Louis Mo. and Columbus Oh.

I found a Marriage Bond dated (included a note from Maria's Mother, Katherine Soenken, dated July 29 1863, giving her permission for them to marry).
They married, in Louisville, 2 Aug 1863 he was 23 & she, 18.
Right in the middle of the Civil War
Death record of Chas. E. since transfered to Ky. State records in Frankfort (which I have visited).

Had a reunion in Louisville, in 2004, @ St. Martha Catholic Church cafeteria, shared my research with family.

.Foreign locations: Germany, Switzerland, France,
.Over 400 family members identified
Have been stuck ever since.
Cannot find anything beyond my Great Grandparents Charles e. Meyer, b. 1840, in St. Louis Mo. can't find birth record or his parent names, etc.
and GGM, Mary Maria Soenken b. 1843 in Osnaberg (?)
Germany (?)
Earliest find is Charles E. in Louisville City Directory 1858,
age 18, he worked with Joseph Gottschalk in Gottschalk Drug Store.
Chas. & Maria married 8/2/1863 had nine children (two died @ birth). My Grandf. John Henry Meyer was the eldest.
