I am researching the decendants of ANTHONY JANSE VanWESTBROOK, s. of JAN THEUNISZOON & EYCHGAN BOSCH of Westbroek, Holland. Antoni contracted with Kiliean VanRensselaer for employment in the colony of Rensselaerwijck, now Albany, N.Y. Antoni adopted the name "WESTBROOK,WESTBROOKE,WESTBROECK,WESTBROEK" when required to distinguish himself from at least two other contemporary Antony Jansen's, when the British took control of the colony. Antony came to this country at the restoration and accession of Charles II to the throne of England in 1660. He married ORRSELTIE DIRCKS abt. 1658-9 and they had three children; Dirck, Johannes & Anna. I have a lot of Antony's decendants already included in my family tree and am directly decended through Antony's son JOHANNES WESTBROOK, who married MAGDALENA JANSE DEKKER, May 12,1687. ========================================================= I have also researched the other side of my family, DANIEL MEEKES/MIX b. 1598 in England,(according to Mormon databases). Daniel's son THOMAS MIX, b. 1628 in England, m. REBECCA TURNER b. 1631, dau. of Captain NATHANIEL TURNER.
My family tree,(the link on this page), contains the WESTBROOK & MIX families. These are my direct ancestors. I have an enormous amount of information on both families which I am willing to share.
