Mathis - Mleczko Family Tree

Updated September 7, 2009

About Our Family Research

I have doing online research for over a year on my family (surname Mathis) and my husband's family (surname Mleczko).

Family names I am looking at include: Mathis, Mleczko, Konetchy, Pavela, Bullock, Hooks, White, and others.

Geographically, I am looking particularly at the Mathis family in Mississippi in Covington County. My mother's side includes relatives in Wisconsin, tracing back to Poland, where I have hit a dead end for now. My husband's side is located primarily in the St. Louis, Missouri, area, and Chicago, Illinois.

Right now, I have hit the wall on my research into my paternal grandmother, Alma May Magdalene Lowery (Lowry?). She married Duncan Campbell Mathis and lived in Covington County, Mississippi. My father was born in Mize, near Laurel, Mississippi. My research indicates (but is by no means conclusive) that her father may have been Monroe Morris Lowery. Otherwise, I can't find out more information, even from my own family members.

I continue on this journey of discovery, however, enjoying it every step of the way. Anyone with information on the Mathis family of Covington County, Mississippi, can contact me: nette65a@charter.net. Thanks!
