This is definitely a work in progress. All the research I have done has not led to anyone else researching my family lines so I hope this may lead to some connection. My name is Suzanne Catherine Damon (maiden). My mother, Ann Helen Gallimore (b. California 1931), married William Howard Damon, Jr. (b. California 1926) in 1952 in California. Ann's father's, Marshall Robert Gallimore (b. New York 1890, m. 1917 New York, d. 1974 California), father, William Henry Gallimore (b. England 1855, m. England 1882, d. California 1946) came to the U.S. in 1883 with his new wife, Annie Walton (b. England 1860, d. 1934 California). Their parents were William Gallimore (b. abt 1829) and Sarah Geeves (b. abt 1833); William Robert Walton (b. ?) and Sarah Mamn (b. ?). I believe they were from the Manchester, Lancashire and Smethick, Warwick areas of England. I have a few more details but this gives the general idea. Ann's mother's, Rose Josephine Nicholas (b. New York, 1893, d. California 1971), parents both came from Weingarten, Baden, Germany. I have up to five generations in Germany with the surnames Schwaiger, Becker, Reichert, Groskopf, Wacker, Weissin, Nikolaus, Nikolai, Nicol, and many decendents of Ludwig Schwaiger. On my father's side: his parents, William Howard Damon (b. Pennsylvania 1889, m. New York 1922, d. California 1937) and Catherine Mildred Robertson (b. New York 1895, d. California 1978); William Damon's father was Alonzo Damon (b. New York 1866, m. New York abt 1886, d. New York aft 1910) and his mother, Ella E.(initial unsure and surname unknown but one daughter, Melissa, married an Ulrich and had a grandson, William (b. ?New York 1912, d. New York 1982), and a granddaughter, Ellen, two years younger than William). The Damons came from Massachusetts, early 1800s, to Rhode Island, mid 1800s. I do have more information than mentioned here and many holes. The Robertsons established a community in Sullivan County, New York called Robertsonville. Today it is called White Sulphur Springs. Some information on the county said Bradley Robertson settled the area in 1809 and fought in the war of 1812. Catherine's grandfather, William Bradley Robertson, b. 1835, could be related but I haven't made the connection. Other surnames associated with the Damons and Robertsons are: Quick, possibly Underhill, Coleman, Calkins, Hall and Gilbert. If any of this sounds familiar please feel free to email me.
