I come from the Fifth generation of the family of William Mobley
and Phoebe Lovejoy in the family of Dr. John Richard Mobley, Sr. and Lucretia Simkins. Dr. John Richard Mobley, Sr. was born Dec 20,1779. Died Dec 3, 1857. He was the fifth child of nine born to Jeremiah Mobley,I,and Sarah "Sally" Cheves. In 1805 John married Lucretia Simkins,born april 1789, died June 1861.
Dr. John Richard and Lucretia Simkins Mobley, Sr. had ten children: The second child, William Simkins Mobley,(b. 1809, d. 1866.) by his 2nd mar to Susanah "Susie" Elizabeth Neal,(b.1819, d. 1876.) had nine children. The fifth child,James Furman Mobley. Sr., b.1850, d.1914,in SC.) marr Sophie Alice Bland, b. 1851, d. 1897. There were nine children born to this marriage. The 2nd child, Edwin Ruthvin Mobley , b. may, 1875, d. apr, 1975 was my grandfather. Edwin marr. Jessie Gomillion Mobley, b.1883,
d.1961)daug. of Arthur Julian Mobley and Anna Louise Gomillion.
Four Children were born to this marriage, the second son being
Arthur Vardell Mobley, b. 1922, d. 1999. My Father. He married
Ernestine Louise Park, b. 1924. They had three children, the
second child and only daughter, whom is Mary Louise Mobley.
