Papa Bazzell's Scrapbook Part II

Updated December 17, 2009

About Our Family Research

*In 1975 by father Hunter K. Bazzell, son of Otis J. Bazzell got paperwork/info. from a 2nd cousin Genealogist that told him that four brothers came over here from Scotland in the late 1600's. I think it said from the Shetland Islands, but not 100% sure. I did read all the info., and Dad has photos of Charles C. Smith and Belle Bean Smith and children. My Grandmother Tabitha "Kate" had blonde hair. Parent's appeared to have black, like my Dad's.

David Bazzell was born in Mecklenburgh Co. in Virginia in 1759 entered army first in place of William Minor, 2nd timie in place of George Stanback. After wards moved with his father to Persons Co., North Carolina. Soon after arrival was called to fight for his couintry. His brother Robert was mortally wounded in the battle of Eutaw Springs. Younger brother John born 1771 verified this April 11, 1833. Also Samuel Dunnaway who married one of David's sisters 7/9/1841, said he was present at David's wedding to Susan Price in Caswell Co. N. Carolina June 29, 1793.

David died Dec. 29, 1836. Susan swore this to Alec Johson Justice of the Peace Maury County Tenn. Also that she had no records of her childrens ages on the 6 of May 1840.

*Info. on first homepage, Otis Johnson Bazzell's "Papa Bazzell's Scrapbook", I think Simon's father was a W.K. Bazzell born 4/7/1911, because it is separated by a box with the David T. Bazzell info. I'm not sure how close I am to 900 words but I will try to make a third/and four homepage to finish all my info.
