About Our Family Research

My ancestor Johann Heinrich ( John Henry ) Moening or whatever the correct surname was came to America in the early 1830's. He ended up in Glandorf, Ohio ( Putnam County ) from Osnabruck, Germany. I have no information about his German family history. I am also intrigued by the different surname spellings. As you can see the names are different. Some additional spellings are Monich and Moench. Which one is correct? I would love to correspond with different people with the similar spellings and come to a conclusion of which one is most probable. I would also love to find out about the German family history.
