Our family has been in California since 1935. We came to Califoria to start a new life. My father bought a grocery store in West Los Angeles on 1800 Sawtell Blvd. He build a new store on Sawtell blvd. in 1940 and a new home next door to the store.
We moved to Sherman Oaks in 1942 during the War. He became one of the first commuters.
