About Our Family Research


Have researched the Moistner family back to the Early 1800's. Finally ending With Christian Moister in Virginia coming from Germany. I have found several different ways of spelling the name Moistner.

Moistner, Moister, moystner, Moyster, Meister, Misinger, Misener, Mayster, Misner and Moistener.

Those are the names that I have come across that are a direct decendent of Christian Moister. Which I don't think is the proper spelling as coming here from Germany.
