Thomas Sparkman (son of Alice Sparkman) was born 1898. He married Gertrude Gardner, daughter of Walter Hearvy Gardner and Henrietta Ann Hendricks.

Tom and two of his children Mary and Glen died together at their farm home on the Miller Road near Cain creek and about three miles west of the Green Forest Church of Christ, when a tornado destroyed their home and then burned. Only his wife Gurtrude and one son Carol escaped and Gurtrude was severely injured, she never fully recovered but lived many more years.. Carol went on to graduate from Harding Collage in Searcy Arkansas. He became a very successful Medical Doctor. The family were members of the Green Forest Church of Christ and had just returned home from a Sunday Church dinner when the tragedy happened. I was there soon after it Struck the home.
