Alabama Morrissettes

Updated September 30, 2006

About Our Family Research

I'm from the Alabama "Morrissette" clan. I used my grandfathers obituary to begin my researcha dn family tree.

My granfather's name is John L Morrissette, born February 16, 1920 in Lower Peachtree, Alabama. His father's name is Alpohonse Morrissette and mother is Siller (do not know maiden name).

I believe that my greatgrandfather was a slave in Alabama or at the very least born to a slave. He may have been a "rape" baby as my families hue ranges from very fair to very dark. Green, gray and blue eyes are passed through generations.

I have marked European features, but that could be due to my great grandmother on my mother's side was raped by two white men and thus my grandmother is half white and half black. This is the Pettis/Winchester side of my family.

My family tree is not complete yet, but take a look and send me any information you may have which helps me complete my tree!
