Sailed around "The Horn" and settled the Torpey Ranch in Half Moon Bay, CA where all their children were born. Francis T. b: Sep 1872; Margaret b: Apr 1874; Mari C. & twin Catharine L. b: June 1876; James J. b: July 1877 and William H. b: Feb 1882 (Source: 1900 Census). There is also a son Michael age 12 listed on the 1880 census as well as a brother Patrick age 50 and sister Catharine Whalen age 48 both born in Ireland.

I believe the family originally came from Limerick.

Francis T. married Susan Glenn Lilley. They had Clara Lilley & Francis Thomas Torpey. Clara married Walter Morten and their children were Philip, David & Gerald.
