My great grandfather, Ralph Maddox, was from Danville, Hendricks County, IN. He was born c 1885 and died April 19, 1962 near Carmel, IN.
In June of 1904, he married Edith L. (Lysle) Smith in Hancock County. At the time of the 1910 census, they were residing in Center Twnshp., Marion County, IN with their three children,
Ernest Earl - b 1905 Marion Co., IN - d 1965 New Jersey
Lulu or Lulla K. (Kathryn) - b 1907 McCordsville, IN - d April 10, 1940 Tipton, IN
Helen Mae (Billie) - b February 25, 1913 - d June 21, 1937
Lysle died c.1917, possibly of influenza. Ralph raised their children alone. Later, He lived and worked as a landscape gardener at estates in the Indianapolis area, living with his son in the winter.
Ernest moved to Ohio and married (1) Francis Winifred Irvin. They had a son, Robert,(b December 28, 1928 d February 12, 1981)
Kathryn married Paul Guilkey of Tipton, IN. They had three daughters. Two of the daughters, Rose Anna (Pat) and Peggy, are deceased.
"Billie" was married Dec. 18, 1934 to Ora Lee Pore (b February 25, 1909, d April 25, 1994), from Tipton, IN. They had two daughters. She died June 21, 1937.
Lee's parents were Frank Pore/Poer/Poor (b 1862 d 1927 and Maude Melvina Suits (b November 9, 1879, d 1967) of Tipton County.
Maude's parents were John Calvin Suits and Asenath Emiline Leonarde, originally from Guilford Co., NC.
Frank is the son of David Poer/Poor and Mary J. Norris, originally from Guilford, NC. Frank's line is;
