My mother was Jeanette Galati
She married my father, Earl William Eckert in Cleveland, Ohio in 1946 or 47.

My mother's mother was Domenica Di Giacomo from Montaquila, Italy
Her parents were Olimopio Di Giacomo and Apollonia (Belinda) Palumbo.
My mother's father was Domenico Galati, originally from Vallelonga, Calabria, Italy. His father's name was Giuseppe Galati and Girolama Caristo.

My fahter's father was Christ Eckert from the Pittsburg, PA (Millvale) area. His parents were Albert and Anna Eckert.
My fahter's mother was Helen Young, also from the Pittsburg area. Her parents were Anthony Young and Elizabeth Schorr.

My great-grandmother was Anna Klaus Eckert. Anna was born in 1860 in Hochheim, Germany. Anna married Albert Eckert in 1883 in Pittsburgh, PA. Albert died on 9/21/1914. I know that Anna remarried a man named Otto Bumke after my great-gramdfather passed away and before 1927. Mr. Bunke (Bumke) had a daughter from his first marriage, Gertrude. Gertrude married my grandfather, Christ Eckert's, oldest son Robert Eckert. Robert and Gertrude divorced after their son Robert was born. My grandfather told me that his mother, Anna, was a cook. I'm not sure if that meant that she was a servant at someone's residence, or if she was a cook at a local restaurant.
