I am always looking for information and new relatives in the search for my family's history. My Morrison line is from Harris, Scotland. The first to emigrate to Cape Breton was Angus "the Tailor" Morrison from Strond, Harris. He, his wife Martha Katherine MacKillop, and their children (about 3 children at that time) left for Canada in the late 1820's (about 1827-1829). They settled in St.Ann's, Cape Breton.
My lineage is as follows:
-Donald (Ban) Morrison -John Morrison -Angus Morrison -Donald Morrison -Angus Morrison -John Morrison -Angus ("the Tailor") Morrison (first of our ancestors to emigrate to Cape Breton) -John Morrison -Donald Morrison -John James ("Jack") Morrison -Huber Morrison -Frank Morrison (me)
I was born in 1945 in Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I was raised in and around Baddeck and St. Ann's and now live in Ottawa, Ontario. For about the past 10 years (on and off), my family and I have been trying to assemble a complete and accurate record of our family.
If you think you may be linked to this family, please send me an email, I'll be happy to investigate and would love to share information. jellybeen@rogers.com or jellybean@canada.com
