The Morris family are novices at genealogical research and are beginning to learn the craft. We have two sons, Hunter Wade and Lee Mason who is married to Gayle Waskow and they have a daughter, LeeAnn.
Hunter's surname background includes "Mason, Baird, Gafford, Lee, Moore, Rousom (Rawson),Lister,Holden, Rumph, Million and Williams. Janet's surname background includes Wade, McFarland, Treat. Six generations of Morris' have been Texans and they came from AL , GA, and VA. The Pettis and Wade families came to TX in the 1940's from IN, IL, & MI and tradition says England and Scotland.
Most of our family information comes from Bibles, some county records, inherited letters, pictures, newspaper storiesthe Internet and a lot of oral tradition coupled with birth, marriage and death dates transcribed in various forms. We are gathering data from multiple cousins scattered far and wide; some are enthusiastic contributers.
The resource generation are in their 60s and 70s and we did not quiz our parents or grandparents very well. Hunter has one sister, Suellen Hutchison of Dallas (no issue). Janet has two brothers, Alan Wade Pettis of Coto de Casa CA with four children and Robert McFarland Pettis of Irvine CA with three
children.
