The Moford/Hendrickson Families of Monmouth Co. NJ

Updated October 26, 2008

About Our Family Research

I have been able to trace my Morford family line with confidence back to a Thomas Morford buried in Bath England in 1625. A son, John William Morford, was born in Bath in 1623 and migrated to America in 1663.

I have been able to trace my Hendrickson family back to a Rutger Hendrikse who in 1470 married Gennetje Beeckman (belived to be Scandinavian). A son Barent Hedriske married Neeltje Evertse in 1524 and produced a son, Lambert, who served as an officer in the Dutch Navy under William "The Silent." His marriage in 1550 resulted in a son, Cornelius Hendricks (or Hendrickson b. 1672. Cornelius Hendricks (Hendrickson) became an explorer of the New World and is credited with discovering the Schuylkill River.
