About Our Family Research

This is the family tree of my ancestors who came to Cleveland County Indain Territory in 1892. They had all come from Texas. The Morris branch came originally from Tennesee. Elizabeth Morris, whou settled the original homestead in 1892 was the daughter of John W Morris, Smith County, Tennesee.

William Pink Croft came with his wife, Sarah, and children, two of which were grown sons, Earl Gaines Croft and Waco Kelly Croft. The three men ran a ferry across the river at Pauls Valley before coming to mcClain and then Cleveland County Indian Territory.

James Ayres Moody came from Montague County, Texas with his with his wife and children.

Charles Hill died in Texas. His wife and children came to Southeast Cleveland county and settled around 1890.

There are many, many descendants who still live in Cleveland County. For more information on the Morrises and the Moodys, you may contact Charlene Clark of Oklahoma City. She is also a descendant of Charles Morris and Parlee Moody.
