My Grandfather moved to Live Oak, Fl in 1925 from Ironton, Ohio. With him was my Grandmother, Dessie Gooding Hurley, My Father, Robert E Hurley, J and my Aunt Mary Hylda Hurley. My Father's birthday was June 7, 1922 and Aunt Mary's was June 9, 1923. They drove two Model T's and I have the tags off of them.
My Grandmother was supposed to have been 14 when Robert married her and 15 when whe had my Father.
Supposedly he lied about his age when he married her and that appears to be true as his Tombstone gives his birthday as September 17, 1881, He died Feb 7, 1936.
But as I have tracked him on the census, he was born in 1874 and had a twin sister, Mary. This is always what we were told. In fact, my Aunt Mary had twins, a boy and a girl and my son had a boy/girl twins.
My Grandfather was married before to Stella Reynolds and they had 6 children. Ralph, Rex, Hylda, Dayle, Neil & Ruth. With my Grandmothr he had Robert (my grandfather), Mary, Dessie, John, Marie and Betty.
My Grandfather's parents were Philip Evans Hurley and Anna Harrell Hurley. They had 6 children, Louis, Zachary, Thomas P.E., Catherine, Robert & Mary. Robert & Mary's birthday was Sept. 17, 1874. Thomas P. E. was born 1868.
Thomas P. E. also moved to Live Oak and married Cora Croft of Live Oak.
