Hi I am a g-g-g-grandson of Horatio D.Motley b.in Pa.Virginia
year 1797.Horatio married Nancy F.Motley she was born 1803.
They had several children I only know of two.Nancy C.Motley
b.abt.1835 in Virginia, she married Daniel Protroplis Burton,
James Motley was b.abt 1839 in Rockingham N.C.James married
America Sharp Motley,b.unknown died unknown but had several
children,and they are Willie T.Motley,Cicero Motley,Augustas H.
(G.H.)or(Gus)Motley,b.Nov.3rd,1878 John Pinkney Motley,Betty
Motley,and Laura A.Motley.Gus married Essie Broadway Motley
she was born July __ 1886 they had 7 children and they are,
John (Everette)Motley b.Jan 07 1906,Willie Wade Motley b.Mar.
12 1908,Thomas(Vance)Motley b.Aug.9th 1910,Essie(Thelma)
Motley b.Sept 27 1912,Elizabeth(Alma)Motley b.Mar.3 1915
William Casey (Bill Motley)b.July 20 1917 Esther(Wilma)Motley
Nov.___ 1919.Essie B.Motley died Sept.12 1920 age of 34 yrs.
Gus remarried LilaBelle Byerly Spry she was b.1899.
she and Gus had a daughter in 1928 her name was Francis Motley
and died while still a baby.Gus died Feb 6 1961.Gus is buried beside Essie B Motley at No Creek Church,Mocksville,Nc.Everette Motley married Lillie C.Burton and to them they had 3 children,
1.John Everette Motley jr.(J.E.)b.10-30-1930,2nd another son was born dead.then a girl was born her name was Iris she died shortly
after birth when the delivery doctor broke her back.it is
believed that both children are buried at Cherry Hill Church
down in the Point,in Mocksville,Nc.Everette left and remarried
to Ruby Lee they also had 3 children Essie,Paulette,Kathy,he also
left them while they were young and moved to Cleveland Ohio,
until his death,July 9 1969, of throat cancerT.Vance married Madeline they had a son Vance Augustas Motley.T.Vance died May 18 1968,of Cancer.
W.W.Motley know as Wade married Alvis,they had several children Yuteva Jean,William Howard (Bill) Motley, don't know the rest Bill was killed Aug 1976 in Winston Salem,Nc.when a jeep he was driving on a hill behind Forsyth Tech.over turned and killed him.Wade died in the V.A.hosp.and was creamated Sept 1983,My father J.E.died of Cancer June 18th 1987.William Casey died
____ 1990,Alma died of cancer Jan __ 1992.So this is all I know
