Calling all Motts!! I'm searching for the ancestors and descendents of Jackson or Andrew Jackson Mott (1835-1892 or 1902). He may have been born in New York, died in Franklin Twp., Portage County, Ohio. Married Alzina Lindsey in Ohio about 1865. Children include Sarah b. 1867, Elda b. 1869, Minnie b. April 1870, Darius W. b. 29 Mar. 1875 d. 1946 in Ohio.
I have a lot of family information on Darius's descendents but welcome any more that you have available. I am particularly looking for any information on Jackson Mott's parentage and ancestors, probably from New York. I have a marriage cert for Jackson & Alzina (who was 15 at the time) but none of their parents are listed on the certificate. At age 15, Jackson was living in the home of Dr. Joseph and Eunice DeWolff in Franklin Twp. Ohio. He served in B Company, Ohio 2nd Cavalry in the Civil War from August 1861 Sept. 1865. Unless Jackson Mott was hatched or beamed here from Mars, he should have some parents somewhere. I need your help and I am willing to share what Mott information I have. Email me at ejmott@home.com
