| My Home Page at Geneaology.Com Family Tree Maker In 1600s under, The Duke of Argyll, The lands of Ralph, i.e., Ralston/Roulston in Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland including the Kintyre Peninsula. Several Lowland Lairds oversaw the production on Campbell Clan plantations. In the early 1600's my Ralstons arrived in Boston, MA. From there they migrated to Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri, and Kansas. And when Oklahoma was opened for settlement, My Grandfather, Thomas Dempsey Ralston, was among those galloping into Oklahoma in the land rush of 1889-1890. He was the son of John William Ralston & Margaret Bailey Ralston of Ray County, MO. He married my grandmother Lois Lillian Cook, daughter of Lucinda Franklin and Hiram Cook. Lois Lillian Cook Ralston & Thomas D. settled in Woodward Oklahoma, where my father, Thomas A. Ralston and his eight siblings were born while Oklahoma was still Indian Territory. In his first marriage my father had five children the youngest of these was Vera Ralston, third runner up in the 1948 Miss America pageant. She later became Vera Miles, the movie star. My mother Edna was his second wife, mother of my two brothers and me. She was a published author, using her nick name Nancy Ralston. My objective is to bring our family story together back to the 1600's. Then I may journey to Scotland to pay homage to the old Scottish Lairds who struggled so valiantly to preserve their freedom and their form of worship in the Presbyterian Church. Revised 1/04/2007 |
