Each year for as long as I can remember, my dads side of the family (The Muir's) has had a family reunion. Although it's always been alot of fun, I wanted to look deeper into the family, I wanted to know where my family actually came from, what they had experienced.
So about two years ago, I started my search.
I had never experienced so much confusion in my life, I read the how to's. And the first step suggested was to talk to older relatives. So I went to the oldest in our family..... My grandmother, or as I refere to her GRAM (Carrie Dunmire Muir)
She is getting older and as she said, the memory is not what it once was. She asked why I didn't start this 30 years ago, when her mind was fresh. (I would have been 3 years old) lol.
At any rate, I did get some information from her, then I started with my uncle Harry the next oldest.
