The Murphy's of Ringsend,Dublin,Ireland.via Wexford C1800s Updated July 11, 2005
About Our Family Research
I am researching the Murphy Family history, who were fishermen from wexford and some member of the family migrated to Ringsend in Dublin,a small fishing village at the entrance of the River Liffey.Very little is known of the Wexford aspect other than a female Murphy married a Corish and became the mother of Brendan Corish, was the leader of the Labour Party in the 1960s. The earliest Ringsend Murphy was Thomas who lived in the Coastguard Cottages on Pigeon Hse Rd abt1840s.He had 6 children, Lucy,Kathleen ,(katie) Christopher, John,Thomas,William.
