About Our Family Research

Asa Sowell Muse was a Baptist minister and farmer who was born in North Carolina in 1817 or 1818, and died in Cloverdale (Lauderdale County), Alabama, on January 10, 1894. His descendants still remain in Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas. He lived for many years near Shelbyville (Bedford County), Tennessee, until about the time that his youngest child, Mary Christophia Muse, became pregnant out of wedlock in 1880. He and his family moved to Lincoln County, TN, and then to Lauderdale County, AL. Asa Sowell Muse is my g-g-g-grandfather.
