My main research currently includes the Littlechild, Ruff, and
Roberts families. Early members all were born in England, and
many 'came across the big pond' in the early 1900s. Many settled
first in Canada - Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia. My own
father, William Littlechild, settled in Miami, FL, where he reared his six children. He was born in 1891, Worksop, England, and arrived in Canada in 1912, then in the U.S. in 1913/14. My mother was Ruby Violet Ruff, b. 1887, Richmond, New South Wales,
Australia. Her parents returned to England about 1891, and then
to the U. S. about 1911/13. They were John Ruff and Fanny
Roberts Ruff. John Ruff was born in 1857, Nottingham, Engand.
Fanny Roberts was born in 1860, Eye, Hereford, England. My
father's parents were John Littlechild and Harriet Gascoigne
Littlechild. They lived in Worksop for many years.
I was fortunate enough to spend a month in England, researching
family, but really didn't have enough time to seek out much
One of my sisters was born in Detroit, MI, in 1912. One of my brothers was born in Jacksonville, FL. Four of us were born in
Dade County, FL,
Of course, I am interested in the Muse family - my husband was
Wiley Marshall Muse, b. 1926, son of William and Lucillia Johnson Muse. He was the youngest of their four children. They lived in Canton, NC.
We have had several reunions of the Littlechild Family (& related
families), but our family is scattered throughout the U.S. and
it seems that the travel time is against having anoter one.
Hopefully, that day will come.
