My name is Fran Myles (nee Bell) and Alfred Ronald (Ron) Bell, was my father. Dad died in 1998 at Nambour, Queensland.
Dad's mother (Lillian Hayes)died when he was seven years old leaving a husband and family of seven children, Edward, Reginald, George, Ron (my father), Thelma, Mavis and Lorna. When he was eleven, Dad went to live with his Uncle George and Aunt Mary Hayes (his mother's brother and family). Because of the tragedy of his mother's death, I feel a lot of the Bell family history died also. Dad's father passed away when Dad was 18.
Over the years the Bell siblings met periodically, mostly for weddings and funerals, but as time went by and many of them have passed on, this connection has ceased also.
It was a desire to find some of my first cousins and to learn of our ancestors that has driven me in this search. Modern technology has made the search a whole lot easier but I have a long way to go.
My one regret is that my father is not here to share these ancestors with me (together with the surprises along the way).
Should any person out there read this and be able to help in any small way, I will be forever grateful.
