I am currently focusing on the Naoum and Spileos Lines of my ancestry. The Spileos line comes from Southern Greece and the Kottas/Naoum line comes from Northern Greece/Macedonia area. The following is a brief outline of my Naoum Family Tree:
Naoum Kottas, my great-great-grandfather, second marriage to Santa Annie~ several children; John, Starvros, Peter, Pericles, Soltana and Constantina.
His son John Naoum, my great grandfather (1886-1958) immigrated to America, married Victoria Paris(i) and had several children; Frances, Angelo, Marie and Norman.
At some point after immigration, the family (John and his siblings) changed the last name from Kottas to Naoum, in honor of their father Naoum Kottas. John Kottas's son was already named Naoum after his grandfather, so his first name was changed to Norman. Thus my grandfather (1913-1992) became Norman Naoum. Norman married Pauline Spileos and had one child, my father, John Naoum, named after his grandfather.
The Spileos line is as follows:
Elias Spileos, my g-g grandfather, married a woman named Helen~ had a child named Angelo Spileos, born in Louka Tripoli.
Angelo Spileos married Anastacia Demetreas, born in Kardamilli Greece. Together they had several children, Pauline, Helen, Louis, Samuel and Claire. Pauline Spileos married Norman Naoum.
