Johannes Nappir came to the United States and his name was changed to John Aaron Napier. Why he came here and why his name was changed we are not sure. He always said he was from Norway.
He was actually born in Estonia and perhaps traveled to Norway to find a better life and from there traveled to the USA. Once here he married twice that we know of. The first time was to a Lula Mai Smith, daughter of Jake Smith. With her, he fathered 7 Children. His second marriage was to Arbun Thelma Faulk, daughter of William F. Faulk and Martha Ann Smith. Thelma and John had 3 more children.
This month the family got together for a reunion of sorts to have the story relayed to them by myself and my husband, Steve, who is the youngest of the 10 children of John Napier,Sr. Until October 20,2001 The family had no idea of their father's ancestry.
We are now looking forward to a "real" family reunion that all of the Napier Descendants can attend in the year 2002.
