This book traces the Nattrass family back to Weardale, Durham County, England. Thomas Nattrass (born 1798), emigrated to Canada in 1818. He settled in Cavan Township, Durham County, Ontario. He came to Canada with the Gardiner and Emerson families, who settled in the same area.
Thomas Nattrass married Mary Dexter, daughter of John and Jane Dexter. Their children were as follows:
John Abraham (1826-1881) m Martha Chambers
Elizabeth (1828-1864) m James McNish
Harriet (1831-1907) m James Stainthorpe
Thomas (1834-1912) m Sarah Jane Milburn
Ralph (1836-1856); Ruth (1838-1846)
Mary Jane (1840-1924) m Joseph Richardson
Matthew (1842- )
Alfred (1844-1922) m Lucretia Harriet Synge
Ruth (1846- ) m James Richardson
____ Nattrass (infant)
Susannah (1849-1849)
It includes family write-ups, photos, documents and pictures of gravestones (submitted by family members across Canada, United States.)
Write-ups are also done for Caldwell, Wilcox and Dexter families...all of which settled in Upper Canada.
