Lisa Ann Nauman had just graduated with high honors on June 4, 1999, from eighth grade. She was looking forward to the summer months and then entering high school with all of her friends that fall. This was such an exciting time for her. But it all came to a halt when a tragic accident occurred. Lisa died after falling off her horse on June 17, 1999. Her family's world came to a halt as they tried to grasp why this had happened to such a caring, kind-hearted, generous, and sincere person. During her last year of school, Lisa had been voted "Best Personality" and "Most Likely to be President in the Year 2019." She was a beautiful young woman far beyond her earthly years in wisdom. She had a gift which made people open up to her and feel special. She could light up a room just by walking into it. She hoped to become a lawyer and later a judge. And she would have done it. She was athletic, bright, and very mature. She enjoyed riding horses, spending time with her family, and hanging out with her friends. She loved life and wanted to experience everything she possibly could, and had a demeanor about her that comforted others. She hated to see anyone hurt and was forever trying to cheer up those around that were dear to her heart.
From the very beginning of her life she had been a very strong soul. At the age of four months, she was the youngest person ever to receive a pacemaker for problems she was experiencing with her heart. As she grew older, she had more operations for this same defect, which led to her strong will, determination, and overcoming of this obstacle. If she was told not to do something, she went ahead and did, to prove to anyone that it could be done and that it could be done by her.
On July 21, 1999, Lisa's longtime babysitter, friend, and teacher, Betsy Jones, gave birth to a baby girl. Lisa had been anticipating this baby's arrival for eight long months, but was never there to see her. Betsy and her husband, William Jones, named their daughter Nataly Lisa Ann, in memory of this special young woman. Lisa's family and friends know that a part of Lisa will always be with this little girl, and that she will be watching over her from that great heaven in the sky, and take comfort in that fact.
