The Nethertons that this page will focus on originated in Joplin MO with John Netherton, who married his wife Molly before coming to southern Colorado in the early part of the last century. He and Molly had several sons and a daughter, although I'm not sure of her name. His sons included Virgil, who married Lira and moved to Oregon in the 1960's. Lonnie, and Jack as well as my grandpa, the late great Lloyd George Netherton who left us in January of 1996 after battling for years with a degrenerative spine disorder. Because he was my grandfather, I am most familiar with his branch of the family tree, so that's where this page will focus. Lloyd and his wife Francis(Jenkins) were married in La Junta in the 1930's before having thier first child Danny in 1940. Danny would mary Sarah(Hansen) who hails from Pritchett, CO. They have one child, a daughter Sandy, who presently lives in Pueblo, CO.
In August 21st of 1950, Francis gave birth to my father, Dennis(Corky) Netherton, he would marry Corliss(Auffrey) On July 1st 1972, before having thier first child Alex on May 6, 1975. A second son would follow on August 10th 1978 as Nicholas was born in La Junta. Two more sons would also be born to Corky and Corliss in 1981 and in 1985 as Eric and Ross were both born in La Junta. Nic presently lives in Greeley, CO, while Eric lives in Fowler. Alex(myself) and Ross presently live in Las Animas.
Francis and Lloyds third and final child was born in 1961 as Chucky Lane was born in Las Animas. He married Geri Ann Lopez in 1970, they have no children.
