The Nickelsons from No. Carolina to California Updated July 10, 2007
About Our Family Research
The Nickelson's started out as Nicholson's (Nichelston) in No. Carolina. Another generation was added in Kentucky, Tenneessee and Missouri. This is where the name spelling was changed to Nickelson due to an entry error in Archabald's will. Moving on to Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and California. We can only go back as far as Archibald Nicholson and we think his wife's name was Lucinda Fry but not sure of this can't find any real proof of this. We need all the help we can get on them. We are fortunate to have lots of information on the James Monroe Nickelson relatives, the Hudson relatives, some on the Upshaw family and Scrivner family. They all lived around Ripley County, Missouri and Randolph County, Ark before moving West eventually settling in Lincoln County, Oklahoma around the 1900's.
