Michael Kurtz born in Somerset County Pennsylvania in 1765 and died in 1833. He married an Elizabeth Cober about 1788. She was born in Pennsylvania, believed to be in Lebanon County. She died after 1833 in Canada. They had 7 children both in Pennsylvania and Canada. They came to Canada in 1805 and settled in the Vaughan Twp. area and today there are well over 1000 decendents in Canada. Elizabeth and Michael were believed to have beem married in Berlin os Somerset County. We are still researching for Michaels father who is believed to have come from Germany in the early 1700's and settled in Pennsylvania, Brothersvalley, Berlin or Lebanon areas.
