I am researching 6 differant families. The families are Bangs, this family originally came from England. They travelled to the United States and then Eliphialet Bangs, Reuben Bangs and Benjamin Bangs travelled up to Canada and settled in Prescott County in the late 1700/early 1800's. The Barton's, Oliver Barton came from Ireland with his brothers, Atchinson John Barton, William Barton and two sisters, Amelia and Jane, who was married to Charles Blaney, the family come to Prescott County around the year 1830. The Blaney's travelled from Ireland with the Bartons, 2 brothers, Chadwallader and George Blaney, they travelled on to New Brunswick were George and his wife stayed with some of their children the rest continued on and finally on to Prescott County. The Howes came from England, William and Joseph Howes travelled with their mother Jemima and possibly their father Abraham Howes (House) to Canada and also settled in Prescott County. The Renwicks, James Renwick came with his family from Scotland and took up residence in Caledonia, Prescott County. The Shields, Andrew Shields came over with his family from Cavan Co Ireland, Andrew Shields travelled over with his family in the year 1821. His sons are John, George R., Thomas and possibly James, his daughter was Elizabeth Ann Shields who married Alonzo Bangs Jr.
