My interest in genealogy started a number of years ago as a school project for one of my sons. Since then my interest has grown and I have now expanded my interest to include, the Murray, McCririck, Brown and Walker families.
On the Nivison side of my family I have managed to go as far back as John Nivison, who was born some time during the 1700's and who married Ann Forsyth. On the McCriricks I have gone back to my gggrandfather Robert McCririck, born 26th March, 1821. My research into the Murray's takes me back to Canonbie in Dumfriesshire and my ggrandfather William Murray, who married Margaret Scott on the 21st August, 1874.
My wife was born Georgina Walker Brown and I can go back on the Brown side to the mid 1800's and her ggrandfather John Brown, who married Catherine Wilson. He grandfather James Walker was killed during the First World War. He married Ellen Jamieson on 3rd June, 1904.
