The Nixon Family genealogy in America began when Zachariah Nixon
born March 1633/34 in Nottinghamshire,England migrated to
Pasquotank,North Carolina. Zachariah received 323 acrea in a land grant. Upon dieding in December 1691 he bequested the 323 a to his two sons Zachariah Jr.& Barnabee. Zachariah moving
sold his part 152 1/2 acres at public venue for 100 pounds after having laid out part thereof, in half acre lots for a town-ship and the rest for a common, known by the name of NIXONTON
formly called Wind Mill Point May 9, 1748. ( Quaker Records )
