  I never had the privilege of living near my relatives. When we first moved to Florida, I was amazed that families lived so close together. Dad was in the military, so the early years we knew family only through the Christmas packages and letters. When Dad retired we did not settle in Washington or Indiana (home of my parents). But in retrospect our new homestead was a continuation of the saga of "our family". My ancestors on both sides were colonist and their story spans 300 years of American History, constantly on the move. That is our story. . . . and Dad loves to remind us.
