My interest in my ancestral research was sparked back in 1990 when a co-worker of mine asked me to go along with her to a geneology library in Alexandria, VA to look up some facts for her research that she had been working on for about 10 years. While waiting for her I browsed the shelves and randomly picked up a book and flipped through the pages and came across the names of a couple Jessie Cozart and Elizabeth Walker who were married in Granville County, North Carolina on May 14, 1786. I was immediately interested since Cozart was the surname of my maternal great grandfather (William Benjamin Cozart). I knew that he had lived in that area, but had always heard that he was from Germany (where this couple had immigrated from). I thought they could possibly be his grandparents. Of course during the course of my research I found out that my great grandfather was not at all from Germany, but Roxboro, North Carolina, in Person County, same as his parents before him. But as soon as I picked up that book and saw the name Cozart, my geneological research genes were awakened. I am still researching, and have extended my research to my father's side of my family also. "The research continues".
