The Obst family traces its roots back to Germany, Prussia, Horka, Berlin and to Hannover, Naessen (near Laerte), and to Ballenstadtand Gelnuausen, in Hesse Darmstedt.
The Turk family likewise came to the USA from Germany; from Hannover, Hesse (Hesse Kassel); from Wales (Abergavenny and Camarthenshire, Wales, and from London.
Through ancestor searches, we have become acquainted with other contemporary family members, whom we never had known.
We have visited the library in Salt Lake City, Utah, several times, each visit learned some fact hithertofore not known.
Genealogy is a very rewarding activity.
