Most of my research has been through census, birth, death, marriage and military records. My parents and grandparents are gone. John O'Connor was born in Ireland in abt. 1810. He came to the US between then and 1830 when his first child Jeremiah was born. His wifes' name was Johana. Other children were Charles J. 1837 and William (my GGF) William 1840. William had 3 children, Jeremiah J. 9/1873 (my GF) Johanna L. 7/15/1876 and William R. 9/1878. John lived in Albany NY. William was born in Albany but moved to Chicago abt. 1861 to join the Union army. Jeremiah had Richard E. (my father) b. 7/13/03 and Charles 1902. William was married to Martha Mary Rogerson. Jeremiah was married to Victoria Mittner. I'm still trying to find out where in Ireland the family originated.
