The James O'Farrell's of Missouri

Updated June 24, 2006

About Our Family Research

James O'Farrell and Henrietta Michael were born and married in Berkeley Springs or Rock Gap Area, Morgan, Virginia. After the civil war they moved to Flat Creek, Pettis, Missouri. In 1867 they gave birth to William Clem who was my grandfather, I never met him, he died in 1938 in Ft. Worth, Texas. William Clem married Minnie Bernethy and in 1898 they had my father William Ward. My father served in WWI and was in a German Prison Camp where he nearly died. He served again in WWII in the Navy Seebees and helped rebuild Pearl Harbour. Minnie and William C. had three more children and moved to Idaho in 1910. My Father was married 4 times. In 1923 he had a son Ralph Gerald. In 1927 he had Walter Walton and in 1948 he had me by his last wife Frances Wallace. When I was a 14 I first learned that I had another half brother, but it wasn't from my father (we kept this all a secret). My half brother Walter didn't know anything about him either but that his nick name was Micki. About 10 years ago we found a birth announcement with Ralph's given name and a birth date. We knew he had been adopted, so we had no last name. In Jan. 2006 I became interested in genealogy and went on line to find our lost brother. In March I found him, but also learned he died in 1990. In May I went to California and met his widow and their two children. They are wonderful people and I had a joyous time. All of us drove to southern California to be united with my brother Walter. I strongly recommend genealogy and to get on line. I now feel complete and have a whole new family that I love and who love me. I need HELP. I can not find James O'Farrel's parents. They came from Ireland before 1841. If anyone knows anything please help.
