Thomas O'Grady, teen immigrant from Mayo, Ireland, WWI army veteran in Germany, married Nora Kearns, immigrant of Mayo, Ireland and they had 5 children: 1)John Patrick, Navy submarine commander during WWII married Betty and they had a son , Kevin who married Beth and they have 2 children; 2)Thomas Francis, Navy electrician and Unit Leader, WWII, designed a battery for airplanes, impervious to sea salt; married Mary Lou Moylan, nurse, and they had 10 children. 3) Veronica married John O'Malley, WWII army captain at the famous Bridge over the Moselle, a tributary of the Rhine, NE of Saar Louise, France during March, 1945, and they had 5 sons. 4) James, many years a captain of the largest police unit of Chicago, wounded by a bullet on duty, became Sheriff of Cook County, only after having married Joan, of Polish descent, and they had five children, James, Peggy, Jack, Michael, and Joanne. 5) Joseph, Navy Supply Officer, married Ruth Novak, and they had 2 sons.
Patrick Moylan, born in Anaconda, Montana, March 16, 1904 emigrated back with parents and siblings to native Galway,Ireland; nationally honored insurance broker, married Lucille Fenton, daughter of Germaine Fitzgerald and they had three children: 1)Mary Lou, a nurse, married Thomas O'Grady II, and they had 10 children. She returned to nursing, managed a Program for Unwed Mothers, and retired. The couple have 22 grandchildren, including 5 stepchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren and expecting a 6th any day. 2)Robert, insurance manager, married Mary Ellen and they had five girls. 3) Catherine Anne, born August 28, 1938, married Thomas McGowan, Navy officer and orthodontist, and they had five children. The author, Mary Frances, has a son, Patrick M'Shulawn (pronounced MiShalome)Carroll, a writer, born in '72, who married Claudia Gomez, who created an electronic filing system at the Loyola Library in Rome, Italy when her first baby was two months old. Their three beautiful daughters include twins.
